singer and composer Susanne Abbuehl and Wolfert Brederode have
been working closely together for more than ten years. She has studied
with the late Jeanne Lee at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and
with Indian singer Braba Atre.

In 2001 the cd
April was released on ECM Records. This record gained wide
international acclaim and has been rewarded with numerous prizes
including the Edison Award. The press unanimously praised the
group's concentrated and refined interplay and the collective musical
concept. In spring 2006 her second album Compass was released
by ECM.
Susanne has
been recognized internationally as a unique and innovative vocalist.
In the Downbeat Critics Poll 2002 she was voted in the category 'Best
Female Vocalist/Talent Deserving Wider Recognition'.
The Susanne
Abbuehl Group has appeared at the major jazz festivals in Europe and
Canada. Susanne Abbuehl and Wolfert are performing both as a duo and
in quartet setting. Susanne is a teacher at the conservatories of
Lucerne and Lausanne.
