Over the past six years the Wolfert
Brederode Quintet, until recently working under the name Wolfert
Brederode-Eric Ineke Quintet, released two well received cd's Trinity
and Pictures of You and it has been playing concerts throughout
Europe. The music is a dynamic amalgam of contemporary jazz, classical
music, folk music and a hint of rock music. Transparent harmonies and
crystalline melodies are characteristic features, counterbalanced by a
more earthly pulse and spirit. According to connoisseurs 'contemporary
jazz at its best'.

Austrian saxophonist Harry Sokal is
a member of internationally acclaimed groups such as the Vienna Art
Orchestra and as a leader with Full Circle and Depart. He has worked
with a.o. Joe Zawinul, Carla Bley, Art Farmer, Daniel Humair, Terje
Rypdal and Dave Holland. His technical and expressive abilities on
both tenor- and soprano saxophone seem endless; but above all he is an
absolute lyricist. In 2005 Harry was voted Musician of the Year
in Austria.
Angelo Verploegen is one of the
leading Dutch trumpet players around nowadays. His focused yet velvety
tone on both trumpet and flugelhorn and his sensitive approach make
Angelo a beloved artist. Angelo is active on the scene with groups
such as Toïs, The Houdini's and Verploegen, Verhoeff & Van der
Westen and he was involved in projects with Bik Bent Braam, Amsterdam
Sinfonietta and Bob Brookmeyer's New Art Orchestra.
Bassist Frans van der Hoeven is a
true virtuoso on his instrument but he is always using his technique
for the sake of music. This facility, combined with relentless
creativity makes him a beloved accompanist. He can be often heard in
groups such as the Jesse van Ruller Trio, Fay Claassen and the Eef
Albers Trio. He furthermore shared the stage with Tom Harrell, Jack
DeJohnette, Lee Konitz, Toots Thielemans and Eivin Aarset.
Eric Ineke is one of Europe's most
accomplished drummers, having been on the jazz-scene for over three
decades. He has been performing and recording with artists such as Joe
Henderson, Chet Baker, Dexter Gordon, Shirley Horn and Jimmy Raney to
name a few. He was a member of the Rein de Graaff/Dick Vennik Quartet
and the Charles Loos Quintet and the Ben van de Dungen/Jarmo
Hoogendijk Quintet. Recently Eric founded his own ensemble JazzXpress.
