Nimbus is an international ambient/jazz/classic ensemble with musicians from the Netherlands, Germany and Norway. Nimbus recorded two cd's; Far Enough and Festina Lente which features David Liebman. They performed concerts in the main clubs in The Netherlands and Belgium and at the North Sea Jazz Festival. Festina Lente was nominated for the Edison Award 2003. Whether the music is composed or purely improvised Nimbus always sounds intense and transparent, fluctuating from dark soundscapes to elusive melodies. 'Nimbus has developed an atmospheric-lyrical style seldom heard' as Dutch newspaper NRC-Handelsblad once wrote.

Christof May is trained in both classical and improvised music. He is a versatile, passionate musician and a lyricist on his instruments. With the Susanne Abbuehl group, the Jazz Meteors, Trygve Seim Ensemble and the Metropole Orchestra he performed throughout Europe. Christof also composed and improvised music for various stage performances.

Guitarist Florian Zenker is able to shift from surrealistic soundscapes to blazing improvisations. He is working with bands such as Kristina Fuchs Sonic Unit, YEAST and Tiny Tribe and he recorded and worked with a.o. Eric Vloeimans, Oene van Geel and Theo Loevendie. Apart from composing music for his own groups and Nimbus, he contributed music to documentaries, television and short film.

Annie Tangberg is a classically trained cellist but she is active on the improvised music scene as well. She can draw a beautiful singing tone or weird effects from her violoncello. She is part of the Metropole Orchestra and she has been involved in projects with Dox Orchestra, Marc van Vught, Ernst Reijsiger, duo Percucello and the Norwegian performance group Ning.

The keyword for drummer/percussionist Aimée Povel's playing is 'listening'. Her drums sound is balanced and she treats music always tasteful. She works with contemporary music ensembles such as Textures and The United Women's Orchestra and the more jazz oriented First Ladies. She performed concerts with a.o. Esmee Olthuis and Albert van Veenedaal.

Drummer Eric Ineke is mostly known for his hard bop based work with the Ben van de Dungen/Jarmo Hoogendijk Quintet, Rein de Graaff Trio, and the Dutch jazz Orchestra and as accompanist of numerous international artists. Lesser known is the fact that Eric is also a beautiful free player and a true colorist. Recently Eric founded his own quintet called the JazzXpress.
